Pretty Cool

Saw this over at Aint it Cool News. Firebeather, The Mice Templar, and The Vanishers are all getting made into TV movies. Firebreather and The Mice Templar, both Image published books, will be computer animated while The Vanishers, published by IDW, will be live action.

Like I said in the title, pretty cool. Tip of the hat goes to Cartoon Network for doing it. :)

Batman: The Dark Knight

Seems to be a lot of comic book related movies this summer and I'm lovin' it!

So, B:TDK, WOW!!! Saw it at an early Saturday matinee. WOW!!!

The ONLY negative thing I have to say about the movie was the actress playing Rachel Doss looked much older than Katie Holmes. I don't know if it was intentionally done but that's it. Everything else is super green. A definite go see movie.

I thought everyone was saying Oscar nomination for Heath Ledger's part as the Joker was more a tip of the hat for a guy, who let's face it, died way too young. After seeing the movie, okay I get it. He played the part of the Joker to a the letter. Maybe better than Jack's portrayal. Actually, I think it was better. He was scarier looking. More methodical and maniacal. Overall just freaky good at the part.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army

Okay, the first Hellboy movie was good. Not great. This one I think was WAY better. More story, more action. It was smart yet easy to follow. The characters were played well. The creatures were SOOO cool looking. Gotta say this one is well worth seeing.

That's it. I'm not going to give you ANYTHING about the story. If you don't know what Hellboy is go find out. The stories in comic book form are worth reading. The movies have been worth seeing. So either way you should be satisfied.

Wanted

I wanted Wanted to be SOOOOO good. I believed the hype. I saw the trailers and previews. I figured there is no way it can disappoint as all of that was very enjoyable.

Well, I saw it. The story is similar to the graphic novel. Atleast that is what I've heard. I don't own it yet and haven't read it. Hopefully, that will soon be rectified. :) Then I read that it isn't anything like the graphic novel and is so far off that it shouldn't have been titled after the movie and this was after I saw it. So now I really want to read the graphic novel. Anyone have a spare copy I can borrow? :)

Prince Caspian: Chronicles of Narnia

Okay, just got back from seeing Prince Caspian. Yes, I know, I'm late to the party again. What can I say.

This is going to be a very quick review as I'm tired and can't really think anymore (like that is different from any other time). :)

Overall, the movie was good. As sequels go I'd say it's pretty good. I don't think it was on par with the first movie but as a follow up movie I think it was fine. If you liked the first one you should like the second one. There were parts of it I liked better than the first and parts I like it a lot less. I'd say it's an average movie at best but then I wouldn't have given the first movie high marks either though I did enjoy it so take this anyway you like.

New Indy movie

Okay, I've FINALLY seen it. Yes, I posted the trailer a while back in my blog and it's taken me until today to see it. It's really just a case of bad timing. I've been in the works to see it since it came out but each time we make plans with people to go see it those plans haven't panned out. At least until today that is. :)

The movie? Well, what can I say??? It's a typical Indiana Jones movie. Lots of action. Decent story. Pretty predictable. Yeah all of that. Does that make it bad? Heck NO! Loved it. Greatest movie ever made? No, but it is a good addition to the Indy Saga.

Big Buck Bunny

Came across this animation movie that I thought was funny... Big Buck Bunny. Enjoy.

If you like the video help out the Blender Foundation and buy a DVD of it. :)

Summer movies

Okay, so we've been talking about movies a bit as of late and with summer coming that means even more movies. I thought I could put something up here about what is coming out but then I came across Yahoo's Summer Movie Guide and they did a great job with this. Complete with trailers, summaries, and dates of release. So go have a look. Enjoy.

Wanted

So on June 27th Wanted will be released. What is Wanted? Well, it is a graphic novel by Mark Millar and JG Jones put out by Top Cow and will soon be a movie. Nice progression, huh? :). You can watch the trailers from Yahoo Video. I was hoping I could embed the trailer right here but haven't been able to get it working so go click on the links to view. :)

Indy has a Crystal Skull???

Okay, so Yahoo! News (AP actually) is reporting about the new Indiana Jones movie. For those of you interested, I have included the teaser trailer of the new movie below. Enjoy and see you in the theater on May 22nd.
